A chiropractic appointment last night once again working wonders and holding me together. Incredibly tight through the lumbar resulted in a soft tissue massage prior to any adjustments to help manipulate the joints when adjusted. Don’t be fooled by the word ‘massage’ though, as it involves a pointy elbow, some body weight and 10 minutes of pain. Afterwards however, some decent adjustments putting me back in line but even with some anti inflammatorys today I feel pretty tender and vulnerable.
I put off todays piece as long as possible to allow for some more settling and at around 4pm headed to the gym. I wasn’t keen on a long piece because of the above and wasn’t in date to go red so opted for a UT1 type piece from the schedule.
The plan was 2x5km at around rate 22-23 but toward the end of the first rep found myself getting very tight in the trouble spot with my right hamstring joining the warning signs too. I decided to see the first rep out and then called it a day and stretched off.
Another big decision to make pulling the plug, especially mid row but I seem to be getting them right lately and learning. I have some more work on Monday night when I hope to make some significant progress to full recovery which should enable me to crack on with training properly again. Will see how tomorrow is as I have a few more pieces to do and want to go red again on Saturday.
Will take the positive and mark today down as 5km gained as opposed to 5km lost.
