As the title suggests there is still hope for some sort of continuation in rowing.
I am week 4 into training having done absolutely nothing for barely a month – the longest I can remember being so sedentary. All my work has been self prescribed rehabilitation. I was still in pain over the Christmas period so patiently sat it out until things settled down with my back.
Like many people I’m sure, I started back in the gym in the first week of January. Everything has been largely resistance based work looking to strengthen my core and focus on some muscle hypertrophy . So far I have dropped a few pounds gained over the month off and the strength gains continue to improve. Each week I am able to push harder and I would think I am a week or 2 away from lifting to total failure and challenging the body.
So far there are no complaints and things feel tight and strong. My squat and deadlift is coming along mainly using a 5×5 strength based format. I have done very little in the way of cardio work and will aim to pick that up in the coming weeks.
Rowing wise? Still waiting.
