T.G.I.F – End of leave, end of holiday, time to do some serious work.

12 April 2013

A difficult few training weeks due performing daddy, husband and family duties whilst on leave.  The only good thing about the end of leave and back to work on Monday is back to training which cant come quick enough.

What I have done this week has been courtesy of www.winners2000.co.uk in Paignton Devon. Thanks Jon and team – awesome gym, awesome facilities.

When I started training again 4 weeks ago after my 2 week training holiday post Worlds I was happy to build into the first cycle slowly but unfortunately the past 2 weeks have been oh so slow.  Very little in terms of erging but I have managed to lift weights twice per week.  Last week was only 4 ergs doing the usual sort of 18-20 km pieces each time but this week that dropped to 3 ergs again just pulling some UT2 work around the same sort of distance.

As expected EPOC levels have been very high (in the 70’s even 80’s on one of the pieces) but I know these will soon come down.

I will be interested to see what I weigh come next week.  I was hitting the 99kg mark 2 weeks ago and was planning on pushing that as close to 100kg as possible come next week.

I have taken the positive out of this lack of training looking at it as a transition phase form the 2 week break and then a 4 week steady cycle to build on ready for the onslaught of volume for the summer.

Either way like I said Monday (actually my training week starts Sunday) cant come quick enough.
