Well I think we are finally making some progress.
A really tiring few days back at work has left me shattered. The past few nights sleep I have slept right through (went to bed at 8pm last night) and have still felt knackered in the day. Taking back to back lessons, delivering lectures and on my feet running around more than usual makes a huge impact on training, recovery etc. Last week I was at home and completed a full weeks training doing double sessions but basically lying on the sofa in between watching TV or napping.
Yesterday I completed session #1 nice and early but by the time 3pm came around and it was time to row again I ended up giving at a wide berth and headed off home via shopping and the school run. Absolutely shattered I opted for an early night. There is no point in training if you are unable to recover and adapt from it. (Writing this blog well before 9 and I am straight off to sleep after).
Only 1 piece again today but at least we are starting to see a sign of improvement. I struggled through this session last week, positive splitting with nothing to show for it. Today I went off on target pace again and then wound it in at the end. These splits should start to drop now that the plastic bag has been removed from my head.
Well off PB pace but at least moving in the right direction. Watch this space ……..
