Grabbing what I can – 18km

17 September 2013

Another busy day at work a few lessons and time on my feet that I could do with our right now.  Got some DOMS in my upper quads which is new (must be from yesterdays fun). My back is also incredibly tight and giving me just one or two warning signs.  This is enough to restrict my sessions to once a day training at the moment – even without the back problems the energy expenditure from being on my feet teaching raises a question of is the extra session going to provide me with any positive training adaptations or will it simply tire me out? I feel pretty exhausted so not overly concerned about missing sessions but would like to be grinding away making more progress than I am. The next 2 weeks should prove to be quieter at work allowing me more time to train and more time to recover.  Depending on the back situation I will as usual play that by ear.

Today was just time for some more UT2 work.  84% humidity in the gym made it quite a slog but luckily I had a training partner to row with.  The only problem was I couldn’t find a rhythm and due to his shorter stature and shorter leg drive I found myself rushing the recovery and found more 19’s than 18’s.

Still, some distance in the bank.
