If you’re like me, in your 40’s and you were in your teens or 20’s in the late 90’s/early 00’s then there can’t be a single person in the UK that doesn’t know who David Beckham is.
More to the point, those people know why David Beckham is famous – he was a Manchester United legend, England Captain and married a Spice Girl.
It pains me to think there are kids out there now, who think David Beckham is famous for being Brooklyn Beckham’s dad! Seriously, it keeps me awake at night!
Why?
Because he was one of the finest footballers from his generation and in my opinion that ever was. A role model, a class act and if you’ve seen the latest Netflix documentary, a bloody nice bloke.
How he stayed at the top of his game into his latter years and was able to physically perform. From how he conducted himself off the pitch. Never involved in an alcohol or drug scandal, always in good shape and now approaching 50, he’s in damn good nick. Lean, muscular and looks amazing.
Ok I admit it, I have a slight man crush on him. There, I’ve said it.
Despite being at the top of his game, he also had one very important factor in his life.
He had a coach.
In fact he had multiple coaches. Top coaches. Experienced coaches. Coaches who know their sh*t. Coaches that have been around and done a bit themselves.
And that’s my point.
Everyone needs a coach.
It doesn’t matter how good you are at something.
Everyone needs a coach.
To help you, advise you, plan for you, push you, tell you when to back off and the biggest one – to be held accountable too.
Whether you’re a top athlete or merely starting out in your fitness journey, EVERYONE NEEDS A COACH.
It’s more than just someone to write you a training programme, so find someone who has perhaps walked the same path as you are trying to walk.
