A decent couple of days training with a light 8km yesterday and another one today. Finally nice to see some 70% r18 pace coming back. That with plenty of sleep has lined me up nicely for tomorrows little run out in Cornwall. Another treatment this afternoon at www.essentialchiropractic.co.uk with some rather painful deep tissue work trying to get me out of torsion – very painful!
No finish time target whatsoever tomorrow – it’s more about stretching the legs and rowing a solid piece. Usually before a race I have a plan, a target and a breakdown. Tomorrow I am just rowing a conservative 1km and then seeing what happens. I will probably end up fighting for position as there are 1 or 2 fast boys going having scanned through the line up so it will be great to have a competitive race before Boston. Given that I have already met target season expectations this once again relieves any pressure to perform to a time. I know tomorrow won’t be quick or where I would like it to be 4 weeks out form the Worlds but there we are. I said I was going to race, so I am going to race.
It’s now time to start gathering some momentum – it’s coming …..
