If I Have to Convince You, Then Move Along

19 February 2026

This morning started with a powerful conversation with Shaun Sargent of STAIT®

We were talking about performance, who we want to work with and who genuinely deserves to be in the room.

And I said something I’ve come to believe more strongly as we move into this new performance based direction with Warrior Wellness Movement.

If I have to stand in front of you and convince you that health and performance matter, you’re not my type of person. Period.

I refuse to chase people. I refuse to persuade people. And I refuse to sell the idea that health is a necessity.

What still surprises me is how many senior leaders, executives and decision-makers I speak to who need to be talked into WHY their own health matters, both personally and for their business.

At that level, that shouldn’t need explaining.

There’s a quiet pattern I see again and again.

People know what needs to change. They just keep delaying it.

Not dramatically. Subtly.

Next week. After this project. When things calm down. When work eases up.

It sounds sensible. It rarely is.

“Delay is rarely neutral. Over time, it becomes a decision.”

We’re barely into the second week of January.

And already I’m seeing the same pattern.

People overwhelmed. Busy. Stressed. Running hard.

NOT because the year has demanded it yet, but because nothing actually changed when it started.

Same habits. Same routines. Same pressure.

Just a new number on the calendar.

At some point, delay becomes a decision.

And in high-pressure roles, that decision doesn’t just affect you.

It affects:

  • How you think
  • How you show up
  • How you lead
  • What your team sees as acceptable

“How you operate under pressure becomes the standard others follow.”

I only work with people who accept one simple truth.

Health and performance are not side projects. They are foundational.

If you are depleted, distracted, reactive or running on fumes, leadership suffers.

Not loudly. Quietly.

Judgement softens. Patience shortens. Presence fades.

And no amount of professional success compensates for that over time.

This isn’t about motivation.

I don’t try to push people into action.

Because real change only happens when someone decides it matters enough to act.

You have to want to:

  • Think more clearly
  • Have more energy
  • Lead better
  • Set a higher standard
  • Be accountable to yourself

No one else can want that for you.

“No programme can replace personal responsibility.”

Taking ownership doesn’t mean doing everything at once.

It means stopping the habit of postponement.

Not waiting for:

  • Perfect timing
  • More capacity
  • Less stress
  • Someone else to go first

Those moments don’t arrive.

You decide.

Leaders who last don’t wait for things to get easier.

They take responsibility for how they operate inside the pressure.

That’s the difference.

If this resonates, and you know your health and performance deserve more attention than they got in 2025, a conversation may be worthwhile.

You can connect with me or send a direct message to explore what support might look like and whether Warrior Wellness Movement is the right fit, bearing in mind we only work with people who are ready to take ownership and change, not those who need to be persuaded that health and performance matter.

Chat soon, Ollie.
