Keeping off Q’s debt list

17 April 2013

Ok a quick update on the past few days training.

Overall reasonably pleased; so far I am only negative 40 mins UT2 work which I hope to make up sometime before the weekend – I don’t want to be owing Q any minutes this week and am gagging for a 100% clean sheet of data to send through on Friday night.

I am down because I ran out of time (due to lessons at work) yesterday morning.  I choose not to erg in the afternoon as I was concerned about not having the energy to make it effective (teaching and running around is quite energy sapping sometimes).

I got a decent 13km in the morning which included my first bit of 85% work – wow this felt harder than 85% and the pace was erm well the pace was what it was!

The evening saw some hypertrophy weight training which was completed way too close after dinner but I had to crack on as it was getting late. I choose not to squat this time having hit legs hard on Friday and still feeling some DOMS in my quads so hit the deadlift instead.

Deadlift now up to 120kg for the last 2 sets for 10 reps.  My grip is failing me more than the posterior muscles so time to bring out the straps now I think.

This morning was a really early start to teach at 6am after a really restless night. I knew training would be hard graft today but hit the session mid morning and had a belter.

I dug out an old fan from the store and rigged it up right next to the PM3 directed right at me especially at the catch. Wow what a difference this makes! The split so much faster as I plodded through 21km at low rate.  Much better and very pleased. Also EPOC much more settled at 55 – more like it.

The next 2 days will be demanding with 5 sessions to fit in and to make sure I am off the Q debt list.
