Pushing on and being patient

15 January 2014

quick mid week catch up before an early night – I am absolutely shattered today.

A rotten nights sleep followed by an early start and a late morning TT has left me pretty exhausted today. Or is could be the 4 red sessions in 6 days that I have recently completed – looking back through my training diary I am pretty sure that is a first for me so I’m not surprised I am tired.

Monday was yet another blood tasting set of 750’s which was agony in many ways. A trip to the chiropractor in the evening to keep me ticking over and functioning was successful even if it was a 2 hour round trip. Tuesday I finally got to enjoy some light work and covered round 16km in the morning but had to protect my back by splitting it up.  Then in the afternoon just some light weights with no particular structure but felt like I needed to do some pushing [the non structured approach was because of the current back protecting]. Today was a tough slog through a TT which I had renamed a TP [Training Piece] as there was nothing speedy about it but a good mental toughener.

The rest of the week is all hr capped at 65-70% so finally some time to recover and hopefully adapt! I’m still chasing some speed and will have a run out in Cornwall on Saturday. Just looking for a decent solid row more than anything.

That’s all for now.

Train, eat, sleep, repeat.
