A mid week catch up:-
Monday I was feeling pretty tired after an onslaught of day on day off red sessions so a 30 minute recovery row was the order of the day. Some chiropractic work in the evening hopefully putting me on the right track now but was a little sore with inflammation on Tuesday. www.essentialchiropractic.co.uk
Held off the training as long as possible to let the back settle. The schedule (as you will have seen from Beowulf’s blog) was 2 lots of the unforgiving 6×1 minute [1 rest]. Long story short I buried myself so hard in the first set that the 2nd set didn’t even start, so more of a DNS than a HD.
Looking back now I think one of the issues was after I crossed the line I slumped and didn’t move for around a minute causing the biggest back log of lactic acid to hit me. I managed to get to the bike but by then the damage had been done and the flu like symptoms hit me head on like a train and I felt truly awful. That was enough so after a 20 minute light pedal headed for the exit and felt pretty rough for an hour or so. (PB for the session though so happy enough).
Into today and it was the usual 18km slog keeping it green and just grinding away. Far too much time spent on my feet at work hasn’t helped recovery the past few days which will make the next few days more challenging – if it isn’t hard enough!
