To be honest it is all a bit of a struggle so far this week for a number of reasons.
Maybe too much thinking and less getting on with it is the problem.
I have been very aware of fatigue levels of late and had a chat with the boss over the weekend to clear up a few issues and action plan any problems.
So far only 1 erg a day has gone in; Monday 22km erg + weights, yesterday 1 erg of a slightly more up tempo pace of 10km and today just a 30 min training piece this morning. This wasn’t the action plan by the way – just a few barriers in the way and some decision making on my behalf.
Massive DOMS in my quads from weight training Monday night. I have moved into a lower rep strength phase and worked hard. This hasn’t helped in moving around since but to be fair the erg gets the blood flowing and loosens things up.
It is one of those weeks where I am pretty tired even though the volume has been low thus far and I am struggling to see the bigger picture – I know it’s out there but I can’t quite see it over the past few days.
I am a nightmare at the best of times and am unpredictably moody, selfish and arrogant in perusing my goals – especially when I am in one of these moods. I also tend to get sucked in and worry about what others are doing and neglect that it is only I who can make this train move faster.
3 training days remain this week and I have them carefully planned out – time to action that and move on.
