Recovering [from doing nothing]

3 October 2012

A frustrating few days.  Still no speed work to play with.

Been away since early Sunday morning working (on military exercise).  No chance of training mainly due to very broken sleep and terrible nutrition.

Took my erg but it never left the back of the wagon.  I thought I might have had a slot here and there to put in some short sessions but the reality was any down time was spent resting and sleeping. Even if I had trained the sessions would have been poor quality and recovery limited due to the above factors.

Managed a 30 min plod earlier on my return capped at rate 18 and 70%.  Went for ‘just row’ and eased in nice and steady then decided at 30 minutes that was enough as my fatigue set in.

Focusing on back to normal tomorrow with good nutrition and another steady row probably an hour this time.  Then will see what the boss suggests for Friday and Saturday.  Next week will be business as usual, right now the focus is on recovery from, erm, doing nothing!

Cheers.
